MAITRI is a Hindi word that stands for 'loving-kindness', 'compassion', 'care', 'devotion', 'nurturing', and 'friendship'. At Maitri, we work every day to live up to our name. Since we began in July 2005, we have been committed to working with women, children, and those in the uniformed services who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. We are now involved in a number of additional social causes. Thanks to kindly donations and help from volunteers and community leaders, we expand the scope of our service every year.
